Acorn Pubs Closes Blue Boar for Month-Long Refurbishment
Acorn Pubs closed The Blue Boar pub in Witney for a month of renovations and staff recruitment before a September reopening.
The Blue Boar pub in Witney, Oxfordshire, closed on July 27 for a month-long refurbishment. Acorn Pubs, the new owner, is executing the project as part of a broader upgrade program following the acquisition of nine pubs from the Brunning and Price family business.
The renovation includes updates to the bedrooms, the function room, and the main pub area. Along with the physical improvements, the establishment will introduce new drinks selections and menus. The pub is scheduled to reopen in early September.
During the closure, the company is recruiting additional crew members to expand the team. Operations manager Ian Slater stated that the goal is to give the building "a bit of love" while ensuring the pub remains charming and recognizable upon its return.
