Hong Kong Government Renews 12 AFRC Advisory Committee Members

The Government of Hong Kong renewed the appointments of 12 members to the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council (AFRC) Advisory Committee for a two-year term. The term is effective from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2028, and was conducted under the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council Ordinance (Cap. 588).

The reappointed group consists of practitioners and stakeholders, including Clement Chan Kam-wing, Doris Lian Shaodong, Edward Lau Fu-keung, Elizabeth Law, Ivy Cheung Wing-han, Patrick Law Fu-yuen, Stephen Fung Sing-hong, Webster Ng Kam-wah, Christopher To Wing, Flora Wang Fang, Edmund Wong Chun-sek, and Daisy Yeung. These members are tasked with providing expertise on policy issues and the regulatory agenda of the AFRC.

AFRC Chairman David Sun stated that the continued support and guidance of these members will be instrumental in promoting audit quality and upholding the integrity of the financial reporting ecosystem in Hong Kong. A spokesperson for the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau noted that the committee has provided constructive advice on the regulatory objectives and policies of the council.
