Honda Unveils 10 Two-Wheelers With India's First E85 Scooter

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) unveiled an expanded portfolio of 10 two-wheelers for the Indian market on July 24, 2026. The lineup includes seven new models and three refreshed versions across electric mobility, flex-fuel, roadsters, and cruisers. A centerpiece of the launch is the ADV 160, which is India's first scooter capable of running on E85 fuel, consisting of 85% ethanol and 15% petrol.

The company is also introducing the Rebel 300 and Rebel 500 cruisers, with the Rebel 500 now utilizing 50 percent locally sourced parts. These launches follow a previous attempt by HMSI to introduce the CB300F Flex Fuel motorbike, which was discontinued because E85 fuel was unavailable until June 2026. The new products will be introduced in a phased manner.

HMSI President and CEO Tsutsumu Otani described a multi-pathway approach that combines internal combustion engines, electric mobility, and alternative fuels to support India's carbon neutrality goals. Otani stated that the company is prioritizing customer growth and satisfaction over market share. He also noted a measured approach to electric motorcycles after the company's battery-swapping model saw limited success. HMSI intends to position India as a global manufacturing and innovation hub through local production.
