Houthi Strikes Hit Saudi Airports and Yemeni Training Camps
Houthi forces launched missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabian airports and Yemeni government sites, killing dozens and disrupting global energy markets.
The Houthi forces intensified military operations across Yemen and Saudi Arabia, launching missile and drone strikes against critical infrastructure. In Saudi Arabia, attacks targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, resulting in more than a dozen deaths in Riyadh and two in Dammam. The militia also targeted Saudi Aramco facilities, disrupting global energy markets and shipping routes.
In Yemen, the Houthis struck the presidential palace complex in Aden and government training camps. One specific strike on a training camp killed up to 73 recruits. These escalations have further deepened the humanitarian crisis within Yemen.
Reports indicate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps sponsored these operations by providing tactical guidance, training, and targeting intelligence. This has led to arguments that the Houthis act as an operational extension of the Iranian government. In response, proponents of a firmer U.S. posture are calling for a coordinated military campaign with European allies and regional partners to degrade Houthi command nodes and launch infrastructure to pressure Iran into diplomatic negotiations.
