JB Pritzker Seeks Third Term as Illinois Governor
Governor JB Pritzker is running for re-election in Illinois against Republican Darren Bailey and independent candidate Collin Corbett.
JB Pritzker is seeking a third term as governor of Illinois, running on a progressive platform. The incumbent billionaire philanthropist is viewed as a potential candidate for the 2028 presidential election.
Pritzker faces a rematch against Republican nominee Darren Bailey, a farmer and former state senator who holds the endorsement of Donald Trump and maintains a hardline conservative base. In the 2022 election, Pritzker defeated Bailey by nearly 13 percentage points.
Independent candidate Collin Corbett, a moderate Republican political consultant, has also entered the race. Corbett secured a spot on the ballot after collecting 37,000 signatures. He positions himself as a middle-ground alternative who supports abortion rights and opposes much of the Trump agenda.
