Samsung Electronics surpassed SK hynix in High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) revenue during the third quarter of 2026. According to regression analysis by Bernstein, Samsung generated an estimated 8.7 billion dollars in HBM revenue for the period, representing a 33 percent increase from the previous quarter.

SK hynix recorded 7.6 billion dollars in revenue for the same period, an 11 percent increase. The analysis indicates Samsung currently holds a lead in HBM4 technology, with its value per weight in September being four times that of SK hynix.

Overall HBM exports grew 131 percent year-over-year, though Bernstein noted that price increases from new contracts have not fully materialized.
