Amazon Projected to Outvalue Tesla and SpaceX Combined by 2030
Amazon is projected to surpass the combined valuation of Tesla and SpaceX by 2030, driven by strong growth in its cloud computing division.
Amazon.com is projected to exceed the combined valuation of Tesla and Space Exploration Technologies Corp. by 2030, according to recent financial analysis. While the combined market capitalization of the two Elon Musk-led companies currently stands at $3.3 trillion compared to Amazon's $2.8 trillion, projections suggest a shift in dominance over the next several years.
Growth for Amazon is primarily driven by Amazon Web Services, which reported a 37% increase in the latest quarter and generates 60% of the company's operating income. By 2030, Amazon is estimated to generate $1.38 trillion in net sales and $215 billion in net income. This outweighs the combined projections for Tesla and SpaceX, which are expected to reach $636 billion in revenue and $151 billion in net income.
Tesla has recently seen a revenue recovery following a period of declining electric vehicle sales and poor Cybertruck performance. Meanwhile, Space Exploration Technologies Corp. has experienced rapid revenue growth through Starlink and reusable rockets following its recent initial public offering. Despite these gains, Amazon maintains higher net margins and remains the more profitable entity.
