Boeing Books 165 New Orders in September Surge
Boeing delivered 57 jets and booked 165 new orders in September, significantly outperforming Airbus in new bookings despite trailing in total monthly deliveries.
Boeing delivered 57 jets in September, its highest monthly total for 2026. The figure includes 43 737 MAX jets, eight 787s, four 767s, and two 777 freighters, marking an increase from 51 deliveries in August and 55 in September of the previous year. Year-to-date, the company has delivered 475 jets, an 8% increase over the prior year.
While Airbus SE led in total monthly deliveries with 72 jets, Boeing outperformed its rival in new orders, booking 165 compared to 17 for Airbus. This growth was driven largely by a 100-jet order for 737 MAX aircraft from Turkish Airlines, with additional orders coming from Lufthansa, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, and Ethiopian Airlines.
CEO Kelly Ortberg noted that efforts to increase 737 MAX output to 47 jets per month have taken longer than expected.
