Farmec Plans 70 Million Euro Production Facility in Apahida
Farmec will begin construction of a new production and storage facility in Apahida in 2027 following approval of its zonal urban plan.
Romanian cosmetics manufacturer Farmec plans to start construction of a new production and storage facility in Apahida, near Cluj-Napoca, in 2027. The project's estimated cost has increased to 70 million euros from an initial 40 million euro estimate due to rising construction costs.
Chief Executive Officer Mircea Turdean stated that the facility is designed to expand the company's production and storage capacities. The project recently moved forward after the Technical Commission for Territorial Planning and Urbanism of the Cluj County Council issued a positive opinion regarding the zonal urban plan (PUZ).
Farmec intends to seek state aid for the investment. A previous application for support last year was unsuccessful because the company lacked the mandatory urban planning approval required under the aid scheme at that time.
