Wealthy Investors Name Interest Rates Top Global Economic Risk

Deutsche Bank survey finds wealthy investors view rising interest rates as the primary threat to global growth and Asia as the most stable region.

Wealthy investors identify rising interest rates and yields as the primary threat to global economic growth, according to a poll conducted by Deutsche Bank during the Emerging Markets Family Office Forum 2026 in Singapore. The survey of approximately 200 family offices and wealthy individuals found that 37% of respondents view rates and yields as the greatest risk, followed by inflation at 23% and AI risks at 17%.

Participants expressed strong confidence in the stability of Asia, with 73% believing it will be the most stable geopolitical region over the next 12 months. This sentiment significantly outpaced other regions, including the United States at 14%, the UK and Europe at 6%, Latin America at 4%, and the Middle East at 2%.

Marco Pagliara of Deutsche Bank Private Bank noted that Singapore has emerged as a preferred global wealth center. He stated that international families and their family offices are seeking stability, risk mitigation strategies and global connectivity in a changing world.
