US Drone Strike Kills AQAP Member in Yemen

A suspected drone strike by the United States government targeted a vehicle carrying two suspected members of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) on Tuesday evening. The attack occurred in the Brom Mayfa district of Yemen's southeastern Hadramout province, located west of the provincial capital, Mukalla.

A local security official reported that the strike killed one person and injured another. The identities of the targets were not immediately disclosed, and AQAP has not issued a statement regarding the incident.

The operation took place in a region where AQAP continues to maintain a presence in remote southern and eastern areas, aided by weakened state authority and prolonged conflict within Yemen.
