Standard Chartered Forecasts 3.5% GDP Growth for Oman
Standard Chartered projects Oman's GDP will grow by 3.5% through 2027, driven by non-oil activity and strategic investments under Oman Vision 2040.
Standard Chartered forecasts that Oman's GDP will grow by 3.5% in both 2026 and 2027. This growth is expected to be driven by resilient non-oil activity in logistics and manufacturing, alongside positive contributions from hydrocarbon production and public investments tied to Oman Vision 2040.
The bank significantly raised its fiscal surplus forecasts to 4.6% of GDP for 2026 and 3.6% for 2027. Public debt is projected to decline to approximately 33% of GDP by the end of 2026 and 31% by the end of 2027.
Analysts note that Oman's neutral diplomatic stance and strategic geographical location make its ports and industrial zones increasingly attractive to international investors seeking secure trade routes and diversified regional supply chains.
