Fast Retailing Reports Record 743 Billion Yen Operating Profit
Fast Retailing reported a 32% increase in full-year operating profit to 743.13 billion yen, driven by strong overseas expansion for its Uniqlo brand.
Fast Retailing, the operator of the global clothing brand Uniqlo, reported a 32% increase in full-year operating profit for the 12 months ending August 31. The company booked 743.13 billion yen ($4.70 billion) in operating profit, marking its fifth consecutive record annual profit.
This result exceeded the company's own forecast of 730 billion yen and the average analyst estimate of 726.45 billion yen. Growth was driven by strong overseas expansion, which offset the negative impact of a weak yen within the Japanese market.
Looking forward, the company has forecast an operating profit of 830 billion yen for the fiscal year ending August 2027.
