Apple Inc. Briefly Reaches $5 Trillion Market Capitalization
Apple Inc. became the second company ever to hit a $5 trillion valuation during intraday trading on July 29, 2026.
Apple Inc. briefly surpassed a $5 trillion market capitalization during intraday trading on Tuesday, July 29, 2026, reaching a peak valuation of $5.036 trillion as shares hit $342.89. The company closed the session at $340.08 per share with a market cap of approximately $4.99 trillion. This milestone makes Apple only the second publicly listed company to reach this threshold, following Nvidia, which first achieved the mark in October.
The valuation spike occurs as Apple reclaims its status as the world's most valuable company. Investors have driven the stock up nearly 25% this year, citing optimism over the company's services business, product ecosystem, and AI initiatives. Rather than heavy infrastructure spending, Apple has integrated Google's AI technology to power services such as Siri.
In addition to the market milestone, Apple launched a device leasing program in the United States through Klarna to sustain product demand. The company is also managing a leadership transition, with John Ternus scheduled to replace Tim Cook as CEO on September 1. Apple is set to report third-quarter earnings on July 30, with revenue expected to grow by more than 15% year-over-year.
