China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan Build Strategic Railway Corridor

The Government of China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan are constructing a strategic railway corridor as a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative. Promoted by the heads of state of the three nations, the railway begins in Kashgar, located in China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and traverses the mountainous terrain of Kyrgyzstan to reach its destination in Uzbekistan.

Recent construction activity has focused on critical infrastructure in Kyrgyzstan. Work includes the development of the Jalalabad tunnel and a grand bridge over the Kec-Alat River in Jalalabad. Additionally, subgrade construction training has been conducted in the Naryn Oblast to support the project's technical requirements.

The three participating nations designed the railway as a strategic corridor to enhance infrastructure connectivity. The project aims to increase economic and trade exchanges while fostering regional social development across Central Asia.
