Houthi Missiles Strike Saudi Schools and Cities

Houthi forces launched a series of missiles and drones into Saudi Arabia, striking a school in Najran and injuring one person in Asir.

The Houthi militia launched a wave of ballistic missiles and drones into southern Saudi Arabia on Friday, October 2, 2026, targeting cities and energy infrastructure. A projectile struck a school in Najran, causing material damage but no injuries. In the Asir region, falling shrapnel from an intercepted missile injured an Asian resident and damaged several vehicles and a prayer room in the Ahad Rafidah governorate.

Saudi air defenses and the Saudi-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen intercepted three ballistic missiles and four drones targeting Khamis Mushayt. This followed a Thursday incident in the same city where an intercepted missile caused minor property damage. The attacks coincide with a recent strike on a power distribution station in Madinah.

In response, the Yemeni Armed Forces conducted 71 precision strikes in the Taiz governorate, targeting Houthi gatherings and transport vehicles. Military spokesman Majid Abdullah Al-Nuzaili reported that recent operations across multiple fronts have killed or wounded 1,540 Houthi personnel and disabled 216 military vehicles.
