Bitcoin Nears First Winning Quarter in One Year
Bitcoin is positioned for its first winning quarter in a year, trading at $81,214 despite recent volatility from U.S. legislative and monetary shifts.
Bitcoin is on track to achieve its first winning quarter in a year, trading at $81,214 as of September 19, 2026. This represents a 39% gain over its June 30 close of $58,524. To secure this positive trajectory through September 30, the asset must avoid a price drop of approximately 28%.
Despite the quarterly surge, Bitcoin remains down 7.18% for the year and would need to reach $87,498 to erase its annual losses. The asset recently experienced a dip to $76,000 following a September 15 vote by the United States Senate, which failed 49-50 to advance the CLARITY Act, and a 25 basis point interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve System on September 16.
The price subsequently rebounded after the liquidation of $300 million in leveraged short positions. Analysts note that while the asset has defied its historical trend of poor September performance, future growth depends on the return of spot Bitcoin ETF inflows and upcoming Federal Reserve rate decisions scheduled for October and December.
