Delhi Metro Restores Service After INDIA Bloc Protests
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation reopened six Central Delhi stations after suspending access during a protest march organized by the INDIA bloc.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation restored full entry and exit services at all stations on Monday evening, October 12, 2026. The agency had suspended access from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. at six stations in Central Delhi, including Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk, Janpath, Mandi House, and Barakhamba Road.
These closures were implemented due to security concerns surrounding a protest march toward the Supreme Court organized by the Congress-led INDIA bloc. While entry and exit gates were closed to the public, interchange facilities remained operational at the affected stations to maintain network connectivity.
This disruption follows a larger scale event two days prior, when authorities temporarily closed 45 stations during a separate protest organized by the Cockroach Janta Party.
