India Reduces Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices for August
Oil marketing companies in India lowered commercial LPG cylinder prices by up to ₹209 to reduce operating costs for businesses.
Indian oil marketing companies reduced the prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by between ₹192 and ₹209 in major cities effective August 1, 2026. This represents the second consecutive monthly price drop for commercial users, occurring despite geopolitical tensions in West Asia and elevated crude oil prices.
Price adjustments varied by region. In Delhi, the cost decreased by ₹192 to ₹202, while Kolkata saw a reduction of ₹209, bringing the price per cylinder to ₹2,872.50. Bihar reportedly experienced the steepest reduction, although prices in that state remained above ₹3,000. These cuts are intended to lower operating expenses for hotels, restaurants, and catering businesses.
While commercial rates declined, the Government of India maintained unchanged prices for 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders used by households.
