Vietnamese President To Lam Visits Australia to Boost Tech Ties
President To Lam is visiting Australia to expand the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with a new focus on artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and clean energy.
Party General Secretary and State President To Lam is visiting Australia to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations. The visit centers on the Tech Connect Forum, marking a strategic shift in bilateral relations toward science, technology, and innovation as primary drivers, moving beyond traditional cooperation in trade and education.
Potential collaboration efforts focus on artificial intelligence, semiconductors, smart manufacturing, strategic minerals, clean energy, and high-tech agriculture. The initiative aims to integrate government, university, and business sectors to ensure long-term implementation of these technological goals.
To support these objectives, the Vietnam-Australia Scholars & Experts Association has proposed making the Tech Connect forum an annual event. The association is also advocating for the creation of formal mechanisms to attract overseas Vietnamese experts to help address national challenges and commercialize research outcomes.
