Global Hunger Index Reports Reversal of Two-Decade Progress

The Global Hunger Index reports that undernourishment, child stunting, and child wasting have worsened globally. These findings indicate a halt to a two-decade trend of improvement in the fight against starvation.

A Bloomberg columnist attributes this reversal in progress to the impact of illegal wars conducted by the United States and Russia. The analysis specifically identifies the US-Iran War and the war against Ukraine as primary drivers of increased world hunger.
