Google Launches Pixel 11 Pro Fold With Sign-Language Translation

Google announced the Pixel 11 series featuring a Pro Fold model that translates American Sign Language gestures into English text in real time.

Google announced the Pixel 11 series, headlined by the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, which introduces a sign-language-to-text (SL2T) translation model. The device utilizes its front camera to recognize American Sign Language (ASL) gestures, including movements of the hands, arms, torso, head, and face, and transcribes them into English text on both the main and cover screens.

The SL2T model was trained on more than 100,000 hours of data across over 50 languages. While the feature is currently limited to ASL in select countries and regions, the company confirmed that support for additional languages and devices is forthcoming. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold also includes speech-to-text transcription to enhance accessibility.

The device starts at $1,899 and is available for pre-order, with official sales beginning August 20, 2026. Each purchase is bundled with a six-month Google AI Pro subscription.
