Airbus Resumes A330neo Deliveries After Quality Lapses

Airbus SE resumed deliveries of its A330neo widebody aircraft after identifying quality lapses in the horizontal tail plane. The issues caused a near-total halt in deliveries over a three-month period, with the manufacturer delivering no aircraft in June or July and only one unit in August to Starlux Airlines.

The company described the problem as an isolated issue and stated that the root cause has been identified. Despite the disruption, Airbus continues to target annual deliveries of approximately 870 commercial aircraft. The revelation of the quality lapses caused Airbus stock to drop as much as 1.8%.

These tail plane issues coincide with broader operational challenges for the manufacturer, including quality problems with the A320 family and engine supply constraints from Pratt & Whitney. Chief Executive Officer Guillaume Faury has informed employees that the company must improve its performance in late 2026.
