Philippines Fuel Prices Rise for Second Consecutive Week

The Department of Energy announced that fuel prices in the Philippines will increase starting at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. The adjustments include a P1.08 per liter increase for gasoline, P2.31 per liter for diesel, and P0.95 per liter for kerosene.

This marks the second consecutive week of price hikes following previous increases on August 18. The agency attributed the volatility to global crude oil market conditions, specifically rising Dubai crude prices and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East concerning the Strait of Hormuz and stalled US-Iran agreements. Additionally, Russia's extension of its diesel export ban has contributed to higher prices within the Asian diesel market.

Several oil companies, including Shell, Petro Gazz, Seaoil, Unioil, and Jetti Petroleum, confirmed they will implement these price changes on Tuesday morning.
