Societe Generale to Close 148 French Sales Points by 2027
Societe Generale will close approximately 148 points of sale in France by 2027 to adapt to changing customer habits and simplify operations.
Societe Generale plans to close approximately 148 points of sale across France by 2027. The restructuring aims to adapt the bank's retail network to evolving customer habits and simplify internal operations.
The plan includes the closure of nearly 40 full-service branches, which will reduce the total branch count from 1,300 to 1,263. The bank expects these changes to result in the loss of about 80 jobs, including 38 branch manager positions.
Despite the reduction in staff, the company stated it does not plan any forced departures as part of the transition.
