Adobe Names Anil Chakravarthy as Next CEO
Adobe appointed Anil Chakravarthy as president and CEO effective December 1, succeeding Shantanu Narayen amid investor concerns over AI disruption.
Adobe named Anil Chakravarthy as its next president and CEO, effective December 1. Chakravarthy, who previously served as the president of the company's customer experience orchestration and worldwide field operations, will also join the board of directors.
He succeeds Shantanu Narayen, who has led the company for 18 years. Narayen will transition into the role of executive chair to assist with the leadership handover.
The leadership change follows a period of significant stock price declines. Adobe shares dropped 25% in 2024, 21% in 2025, and 18% so far in 2026. These losses are driven by investor concerns that artificial intelligence will disrupt the software industry.
