Election Commission Rejects Claims of Bhagat Singh Photo in Voter Roll
The Election Commission of India denied allegations that a photograph of revolutionary Bhagat Singh was used for a voter entry in Ludhiana East.
The Election Commission of India rejected claims that a photograph of revolutionary Bhagat Singh was used for a voter entry in the Ludhiana East Assembly constituency. Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Anindita Mitra described the allegations as categorically false and released an excerpt of the final voter roll, specifically serial number 422, to disprove the claim.
The controversy began after Congress MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring posted on X that the image appeared at serial number 422 for polling booth 38, demanding an impartial inquiry. Former Ludhiana East MLA Sanjay Talwar also called for a review of voter rolls across all 235 polling booths in the constituency.
