Google Provides AI Models and Credits to European Researchers
Google is granting 200 European scientific researchers access to frontier AI models and $3 million in compute credits to accelerate regional innovation.
Google announced an initiative at an AI summit in Dublin to provide up to 200 European scientific researchers with direct access to frontier AI models and $3 million in compute credits. The program, delivered through Google DeepMind and Google Cloud, grants researchers access to specialized tools including AlphaFold 3 for protein research, WeatherNext for meteorological forecasts, AlphaGenome, AlphaEvolve, and AlphaEarth Foundations.
The European Commission selected the participating researchers through its Resource for AI Science in Europe (RAISE) scheme. The initiative is designed to help scientists address complex challenges, such as predicting extreme weather patterns and mapping molecular structures, more efficiently.
Google stated that the effort aims to accelerate the pace of European innovation and reinforce the continent's scientific competitiveness by delivering vital compute power and state-of-the-art tools directly to research teams.
