Digital Extremes Unveils Warframe Tau and Soulframe Updates
Digital Extremes announced the noir-inspired Warframe: Tau expansion and new gameplay systems for Soulframe during TennoCon 2026 in London, Ontario.
Digital Extremes revealed major updates for Warframe and Soulframe during TennoCon 2026 in London, Ontario. The studio announced the free release of Warframe: Tau later this year, a noir-inspired expansion set in the ring city of Fornax. This new chapter focuses on themes of organized crime and addiction, introducing a mob boss named the Hunra and a detective-style Chimera Warframe named Brysko, voiced by Matthew Mercer.
Beyond the Tau expansion, the developer announced a collaboration with Epic Games for Fortnite and the upcoming Iceblade of Narin update. Scheduled for fall, this update will introduce the 66th Warframe—a female ice-based frame—and a rework of the Banshee class. The Warframe update also includes a poker-inspired card game called Portau.
For its fantasy action RPG Soulframe, the studio showcased the Warsongs Fable, which adds mounts, a fishing minigame, and a corrupted player progression path. The Soulframe cast expands to include Ben Starr and Jennifer English, while gameplay continues to emphasize atmospheric exploration and melee combat. Soulframe remains in alpha testing on PC with future plans for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Digital Extremes concluded the event by scheduling TennoCon 2027 for July 16-17 in London, Ontario.
