Apollo Global Management Launches 10 Billion Euro European Credit Platform
Apollo Global Management launched the European Credit Company with over 10 billion euros in capacity to fund infrastructure, defense, and energy projects across Europe.
Apollo Global Management launched the European Credit Company (ECC), a private credit platform with more than 10 billion euros ($11.2 billion) in lending capacity. The platform targets performing credit in large and mid-market sectors, including real estate, asset-backed, corporate, and infrastructure lending.
The venture is supported by strategic partners including the Abu Dhabi Investment Council, Standard Chartered, Norinchukin Bank, Athora, and Aranda Principal Strategies. This expansion follows a separate agreement in which Apollo acquired a nearly 10% stake in Mubadala Capital.
Led by CEO Giacomo Petrobelli and Chairman Christian Meissner, the ECC intends to address financing gaps created by the "Global Industrial Renaissance." Jim Zelter, president of Apollo, noted that these needs are particularly acute in Europe regarding digital infrastructure, defense, and energy transition.
