European Commission Approves Kimberly-Clark Acquisition of Kenvue
Kimberly-Clark received conditional approval from the European Commission to acquire Kenvue for $40 billion after agreeing to divest feminine hygiene brands in Europe.
Kimberly-Clark received conditional approval from the European Commission to acquire Kenvue in a deal valued at $40 billion, or $48.7 billion including debt. The merger, first announced in November 2025, will combine the makers of Huggies diapers and Johnson’s baby care products into a global health conglomerate.
To secure the regulatory green light, Kimberly-Clark agreed to divest its tampon and feminine hygiene brands within the European Economic Area. The European Commission stated that this divestment resolves competition concerns specifically regarding the tampon markets in the Czech Republic, Estonia, and Slovakia.
