Adani Defence Launches Rs 2,500 Crore Missile Complex in Shivpuri
Adani Defence & Aerospace began construction on South Asia's largest private-sector missile ecosystem in Madhya Pradesh, aiming to reduce foreign dependency through domestic missile production.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav performed the groundbreaking ceremony on July 5, 2026, for an integrated missile manufacturing complex in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. Developed by Adani Defence & Aerospace, the project involves an investment between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 3,000 crore over the next three years. The facility is designed as South Asia's largest private-sector missile ecosystem, bringing the entire value chain—from raw materials, TNT, and composite propellants to mission-ready medium- and long-range missile systems—under one roof.
This initiative seeks to replace foreign dependency with domestic power and accelerate the transition of Defence Research & Development Organisation trials into large-scale production for the Indian Armed Forces and international partners. The Shivpuri plant will complement the existing Adani Small Arms Manufacturing Complex in Gwalior, effectively creating a defence manufacturing cluster in the Gwalior-Chambal region. The project is expected to generate 5,000 direct and indirect jobs and integrate over 50 micro, small, and medium enterprises into the specialized supply chain.
The investment aligns with the national Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives. It forms part of a broader Rs 1.10 lakh crore commitment by the Adani Group to develop infrastructure and energy projects across Madhya Pradesh. During the event, officials also marked the inauguration of additional development works worth Rs 211 crore.
