Mamata Banerjee Meets Cockroach Janta Party Founder in New Delhi

Mamata Banerjee met Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke to discuss youth-led protests against electoral irregularities and the INDIA bloc's Vote Bachao Maha Rally.

Trinamool Congress leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met with Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke in New Delhi on October 31, 2026. The meeting occurred ahead of the INDIA bloc's 'Vote Bachao Maha Rally' and 'Chalo Dilli' protest scheduled for November 1 at Ramlila Maidan and Indira Gandhi Bhawan.

Dipke thanked Banerjee for her support during the CJP's initial protests regarding the NEET paper leak and her backing following the Delhi Police arrest of CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka. Banerjee praised the CJP activists as pioneers of the movement against the Election Commission of India and the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, inviting the group to organize programs in West Bengal.

While the two leaders discussed the fight against alleged vote theft and electoral irregularities, Dipke's position on the rally evolved across reports. Initial accounts indicated the CJP would participate in solidarity, but subsequent updates clarified that the organization would not participate as a group. Dipke stated this decision was necessary to maintain the CJP's status as an independent and neutral platform.

The broader INDIA bloc rally aims to protest central governance and demand accountability from the Election Commission, including the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
