Green and Smart Mobility Launches Electric Taxis in Los Angeles
Green and Smart Mobility launched its first North American all-electric ride-hailing service in Los Angeles as it prepares for a potential $20 billion Hong Kong listing.
Green and Smart Mobility launched its all-electric ride-hailing and taxi service in Los Angeles on Wednesday, marking the company's first entry into North America. This expansion represents the ninth global market for the operator, which already maintains operations across Asia and Europe.
Controlled by VinFast founder Pham Nhat Vuong and his family, the company plans to purchase up to 1 million VinFast electric vehicles between 2026 and 2030. The expansion coincides with preparations for a potential public listing in Hong Kong, where advisers suggest a valuation of approximately $20 billion.
While the company does not disclose detailed financial data, a report from brokerage VNDirect estimated that the operator generated $1 billion in gross merchandise value in 2025.
