Caledonia Mining Increases Q2 Gold Production at Blanket Mine
Caledonia Mining Corporation reported an 18% increase in second-quarter gold production at its Zimbabwe mine and reaffirmed its full-year 2026 guidance.
Caledonia Mining Corporation PLC reported gold production of 17,360 ounces from its Blanket Mine in Zimbabwe for the second quarter ending June 30, 2026. This represents an 18% increase over the 14,767 ounces produced in the first quarter, a rise the company attributes to improved access to higher-grade mining areas.
Average grades delivered to the plant were 2.88 grams per tonne during the second quarter and rose to 3.05g/t in July. While output was lower than the record-setting second quarter of 2025 due to planned mining sequences and early-year constraints, the company reaffirmed its full-year 2026 production guidance of 72,000 to 76,500 ounces.
To support production weighted toward the second half of the year, the company is implementing a seven-day working week and upgrading its elution plant, with completion scheduled for September to process stockpiled carbon. CEO Mark Learmonth stated that the company expects to maintain ore grades of approximately 3g/t for the remainder of the year.
