Ghana Tourism Authority Deputy CEO Petitions Minister Over Communication

Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey petitioned the Minister of Tourism regarding communication gaps and operational delays caused by CEO Maame Efua Houadjeto.

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Marketing and Special Duties at the Ghana Tourism Authority, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, petitioned the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts on October 22, 2026. Aggrey alleged that recurring difficulties in accessing CEO Maame Efua Houadjeto for consultations and approvals caused operational delays and hindered engagements with stakeholders.

Maame Efua Houadjeto responded to the GTA Board Chairperson, expressing surprise and disappointment at the allegations. She asserted that she maintains an open door policy for executive and senior management officers.

To resolve the internal dispute, Houadjeto proposed several institutional changes. These measures include the implementation of scheduled executive consultations, a formalized escalation procedure for urgent matters, and a strengthened delegation of responsibilities to improve overall efficiency.
