Microsoft Recruits Legal Engineer to Automate Corporate Law Workflows

Microsoft is hiring a principal legal engineer to integrate AI agents and automation tools into its commercial business support and legal operations.

Microsoft Corporation is recruiting a principal legal engineer to integrate artificial intelligence into its Customer & Partner Solutions group. The new hire will build AI agents, refine prompts, and train attorneys to automate manual workflows to increase efficiency in commercial business support.

The company already uses its Copilot assistant for contract review and has begun deploying Harvey, a specialized legal AI tool, across its Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs organization. This recruitment effort aligns with a broader corporate trend of legal departments using software to edit contracts and write policies to reduce reliance on expensive outside counsel.

Microsoft is seeking a candidate with a law degree and at least seven years of practicing experience. The position offers a base salary ranging from $147,000 to $278,900.
