Repsol Profits Surge 265 Percent in First Half of 2026
Repsol reported a net profit of 2.201 billion euros for the first half of 2026, driven by energy market volatility and refining margin growth.
The Spanish energy company Repsol reported a net profit of 2.201 billion euros for the first half of 2026, marking a 265 percent increase over the 603 million euros earned during the same period in 2025. Adjusted net profit for the half-year rose 134 percent to 2.711 billion euros.
Company leadership attributed the growth to high energy market volatility, rising crude oil prices, and increased refining margins. These conditions were driven by ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Iran, as well as attacks on Russian refineries. Repsol stated that the results came against a backdrop of restricted supply and price fluctuations.
To return value to shareholders, Repsol increased its second share buy-back programme from 350 million euros to 500 million euros and announced a third buy-back scheduled for October.
Operationally, the company is expanding its footprint in Venezuela through projects with PDVSA. Additionally, Repsol began production at the Pikka oil field in Alaska in May 2026.
