United Airlines Opens Largest Americas Lounge in Houston
United Airlines is opening a 54,000-square-foot premium lounge at George Bush Intercontinental Airport as part of a $2.6 billion terminal investment.
United Airlines is opening its largest airport lounge in the Americas this Thursday at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston. Located in Terminal B, the 54,000-square-foot facility can accommodate 800 people and features two full-service bars, buffets, and an outdoor terrace.
The lounge is a centerpiece of a $2.6 billion investment in the terminal, which includes 22 gates for mainline aircraft. The expansion targets high-spending customers, specifically elite frequent flyers and co-branded credit card holders.
Houston serves as the airline's primary connection point for Latin America, handling more than 500 departures daily. This move follows a broader industry trend of premium facility expansions by competitors including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, and JetBlue Airways.
