Rio Grande Resources Reports High-Grade Gold at Winston Project
Rio Grande Resources Ltd identified high-grade gold and silver deposits in New Mexico, enabling the company to finalize locations for its upcoming Phase 1 drill program.
Rio Grande Resources Ltd announced high-grade gold and silver results from a surface sampling program conducted in May 2026 at its Winston project in New Mexico. The sampling, which included channel and grab samples, revealed gold concentrations up to 67.1 g/t and silver up to 1,030 g/t.
By integrating these results with structural mapping, the company identified multiple mineralized structural corridors within the Poverty Creek target area. These findings provided the technical basis for the company to finalize initial drill pad locations for its Phase 1 inaugural drill program.
This upcoming drilling represents the first such program the project has seen in decades. CEO Jason Barnard stated that the program significantly increased the company's confidence in the project, noting that the site continues to demonstrate characteristics of a high-grade epithermal system.
