US States Set Deadlines for November 3 General Election

Election officials in several states have established registration deadlines and voting procedures for the general election on November 3. In Georgia, Texas, Kentucky, and Indiana, the voter registration deadline is October 5, though Illinois has set its cutoff for October 6.

Wes Allen, the Secretary of State of Alabama, announced that sample ballots for all 67 counties are now available on the state's website to assist voters. In Texas, early voting begins October 19, with ballots featuring races for governor, attorney general, lieutenant governor, and comptroller. Indiana will begin early in-person voting 28 days before the election, while Kentucky's early voting window is limited to October 29-31.

Other regional preparations include Georgia's advance voting period from October 13 to 30 and Illinois' Winnebago County starting early in-person voting and ballot mailing on September 24. In Wisconsin's Rock County, mail-in ballots will be sent by September 17, and in-person absentee voting starts October 20. Residents of the Town of Turtle in Wisconsin will receive two separate ballots: one for the general election and one for a Town Chair recall election on October 6 between Roger Anclam and Donna Redner.
