UAE Signs Global Agreements at 81st UN General Assembly

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan conducted a series of diplomatic engagements in New York on September 26, 2026, during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. He held bilateral meetings with foreign ministers to discuss food security, artificial intelligence, climate action, and economic cooperation, while coordinating preparations for the 2026 United Nations Water Conference to be co-hosted by the UAE and Senegal in December.

During these sessions, the UAE formalized several international partnerships. The government signed a memorandum of understanding on political consultations with Cambodia, an academic cooperation agreement with Panama, and agreements with El Salvador covering investment protection and the avoidance of double taxation.

Following the meetings, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed hosted an official reception at the UAE Mission for heads of state, government officials from Arab and Gulf nations, and senior international representatives. During the event, he reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to multilateral international action to promote regional and international peace and development, stating his hope that the assembly's discussions would advance the United Nations agenda and development goals.
