Growth was driven by an increase in policies in force, higher average homeowners insurance prices, and strong investment results, including $1.1 billion in net gains on investments and derivatives. The company's Property-Liability segment saw underwriting income grow to $2.0 billion, aided by lower catastrophe losses.
To reward shareholders, the company returned $1.3 billion during the quarter through $1.0 billion in share repurchases and $280 million in dividends. Leadership attributed these outcomes to the execution of strategic growth plans and operational excellence.
