Samsung Launches Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra in London

Samsung Electronics unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series at a Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, 2026. The premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra 5G features an 8-inch inner display and is the thinnest Galaxy foldable to date, measuring 4.1mm when unfolded. The device incorporates a 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which allows for high capacity without increasing bulk, and Flex Titanium display technology to minimize the screen crease.

Hardware upgrades for the Ultra model include a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and 16GB of RAM for the 1TB storage variant. To improve durability, Samsung added a titanium alloy support layer and a redesigned Armor Flex hinge. The screen reaches a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.

For professional users, the handset introduces the Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec for higher bitrates during editing and Cine LUT for cinematic color grading on LOG footage. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra starts at $2,099, representing a $100 price increase over the previous model. Samsung timed the release to capture market share before Apple is expected to ship its first foldable iPhone in September. Pre-orders are open, with shipping beginning August 7.
