Vanguard and BNY Mellon Bond ETFs Hit 52-Week Lows
Vanguard and BNY Mellon bond ETFs reached new 52-week lows on July 23 as multiple US investment-grade fixed income funds declined.
Several US investment-grade fixed income funds experienced significant declines on July 23, 2026, with multiple ETFs hitting new 52-week lows. The Vanguard Group saw three of its funds drop to yearly lows: the Total Bond Market ETF (BND) traded as low as $72.25, the Intermediate-Term Bond ETF (BIV) hit $75.61, and the Intermediate-Term Treasury ETF (VGIT) reached $58.37.
Simultaneously, the BNY Mellon Core Bond ETF (BKAG) hit a new 52-week low of $41.27. Despite these price drops, institutional activity showed contrasting trends. Bank of New York Mellon Corp increased its position in the BKAG fund by 88.2% during the first quarter, bringing its holdings to over 5.2 million shares valued at approximately $222.8 million.
Other institutional investors, including CRA Financial Services LLC, Raleigh Capital Management Inc., World Equity Group Inc., TCFG Wealth Management LLC, and Wealthcare Advisory Partners LLC, recently increased their positions in the Vanguard Intermediate-Term Bond ETF. Recent dividend distributions were also noted, with the Vanguard Total Bond Market ETF paying $0.2445 per share and the Vanguard Intermediate-Term Treasury ETF paying $0.1879 per share on July 6.
