MTN Launches AI Job Board for African Youth
MTN Group launched an AI-powered Job Board across 11 African markets to match youth skills with employment and recommend training courses.
The MTN Group launched an AI-powered Job Board within its MTN Skills Academy on International Youth Day to improve digital and economic inclusion for young people across Africa. Available in 11 markets, including South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, Rwanda, and Ghana, the platform integrates job discovery with skills development by matching learners' current capabilities to employer requirements.
Unlike traditional vacancy listings, the AI recommends roles based on a user's location, career goals, and existing skills. If a learner lacks specific requirements for a role, the platform suggests free courses within the Skills Academy to bridge those gaps. Users can browse vacancies, track applications, and obtain certified digital certificates to enhance their employability.
The initiative addresses a growing demand for digital capabilities in sub-Saharan Africa. The International Finance Corporation estimates that over 230 million jobs in the region will require digital skills by 2030. Established in 2022, the MTN Skills Academy provides training in fields such as coding, data analytics, and cybersecurity, recording nearly 526,000 enrolments and 192,000 course completions to date.
