OpenAI and Anthropic Pivot to Massive AI Infrastructure

OpenAI Inc. and Anthropic PBC have transitioned from AI research laboratories into major infrastructure entities, committing trillions of dollars to future projects like Project Stargate and hardware deals with Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices. To scale their models and manage computing capacity, both companies have established deep strategic partnerships with the world's largest cloud providers.

Microsoft provides the primary infrastructure for ChatGPT, integrating the software across Azure, GitHub, Dynamics, and Copilot. Meanwhile, Amazon Web Services signed a $38 billion GPU leasing deal with OpenAI Inc. and invested $8 billion in Anthropic PBC, which utilizes Amazon's custom Trainium and Inferentia chips.

Google Cloud serves as another critical partner, providing computing power to OpenAI Inc. and custom Tensor Processing Units to Anthropic PBC for the training of next-generation models.
