PNB Housing Finance reported a 4 percent year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs 557 crore for the first quarter of FY27. Net interest income rose 6 percent to Rs 803 crore, while assets under management grew 13 percent to Rs 93,021 crore, primarily driven by the Emerging Markets and Affordable segments.
Managing Director and CEO Ajai Shukla noted that digital transformation across underwriting, sourcing, and collections is improving operational efficiency. Despite these gains, net interest margins contracted by 19 basis points quarter-on-quarter, a result of accounting true-ups and increased leverage. The company maintained asset quality, reporting gross non-performing assets at 0.95 percent.
Company shares rose 8 percent following the announcement and the recovery of Rs 67 crore from written-off pools. Brokerages including Morgan Stanley and UBS retained their target prices, while Motilal Oswal Financial Services analyzed the firm's disbursements and margin outlook.
