Houthi Missile Strike Kills Up to 13 Yemeni Recruits
Houthi forces launched a ballistic missile strike on a Yemeni military training center, while Saudi Arabia conducted over 100 airstrikes across three provinces.
Houthi forces launched a ballistic missile strike on Wednesday against a military training center in the Qatabah district of Al-Dhale' province, Yemen. The attack targeted government soldiers and recruits during morning exercises. Casualty reports vary, with one source stating 11 people died and 60 were injured, while a government military official reported 13 recruits dead and 65 wounded.
Simultaneously, Houthi forces reported a surge in Saudi-led coalition activity. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea stated that Saudi forces conducted 104 air and missile strikes within a 24-hour period. These strikes targeted the Taiz, Al-Bayda, and Saada provinces, including telecommunications facilities in the Dhi Na'im district.
Houthi-run media claimed the Saudi operations caused civilian casualties, including women and children. These escalations occur amid ongoing fighting between the Houthi insurgents and the internationally recognized government of Yemen.
