Apple Releases iOS 27 Developer Betas With AI Updates

Apple released the seventh developer betas for its upcoming operating system updates on August 25, 2026. The rollout includes iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 (Golden Gate), watchOS 27, tvOS 27, visionOS 27, and HomePod software. These builds follow a weekly testing cycle ahead of expected public launches in mid-September, likely coinciding with the company's annual iPhone event.

The version 27 updates introduce the Liquid Glass design language and expanded Apple Intelligence features, including a Siri AI with conversational capabilities, onscreen awareness, and personal context. While macOS 27 is limited to Apple silicon Macs, iOS 27 maintains support for older models including the iPhone 11 series and SE 2nd generation. Current development focuses on stability and polish rather than new features.

iOS 27 also introduces significant changes to the App Store to give brands more control over user acquisition. Apple is increasing the limit of custom product pages from 35 to 70 and introducing Creative Assets, which decouple search ad creative from organic listings. Furthermore, the App Intents framework will allow apps to surface via Siri and Spotlight based on functionality rather than keyword ranking, shifting the focus of app discovery toward AI.
